We are a sweet corn specialist at Cameron Highlands. We plant the special fruit corn. The name “pearl corn” is started by us around 20 years ago. The actual name of pearl corn is “Bicolor Sweet Corn”.
Our sweet corn is unique in its taste, as all types of sweet corn have different flavors. There are over 20 varieties of white sweet corn alone, and numerous other types of corn grown overseas. It is difficult to distinguish sweet corn as a plant in Cameron or Ipoh based on its appearance. In fact, many types of sweet corn can be consumed raw, each with its own distinct taste. However, when you try our sweet corn, you will notice that it is exceptionally delicious, with a very sweet, juicy, and crunchy taste that is hard to describe until you experience it yourself.
The cool climate in Cameron Highlands extends the sweet corn planting season to 100 days, from the start of planting to the harvest. It is important to handle our sweet corn with care as the skin is delicate and thin. Our sweet corn is known for its juiciness, as it is filled with water.
In February 2012, we introduced a unique variety of sweet corn called “Fruit Corn” which is white in color. The seeds for this sweet corn are more expensive than regular sweet corn seeds, costing us over a thousand dollars for a small package, as we import premium quality seeds directly from America. Our sweet corn is not available in the market and is distinct from regular sweet corn. We take pride in providing the best quality sweet corn to our customers. Our Fruit Corn is heavier than regular sweet corn and has been our focus since last year.
Our sweet corn has a unique feature – its leaves are light green with a slightly white tint, which sets it apart from other varieties. However, the color of the corn leaves does not determine the freshness of the corn. We remove a few leaves to reveal the white color of the corn. In comparison to other types of corn, our corn has fewer leaves, resulting in smaller leaves when removed. It’s not possible to judge the size or weight of the corn just by looking at it. To determine the corn’s size and weight, you must hold it in your hand. Some corn may appear larger due to an abundance of leaves, but it may be much lighter in weight.
Fresh corn can be enjoyed raw for its original taste. Our white corn cooks quickly and can be steamed for about 5 minutes to perfection. However, other types of corn require at least 15 minutes of cooking. It’s important not to overcook them since the cooking times vary depending on the type of sweet corn. Harder corn, for instance, requires longer cooking times.

Sweet corn is full of fiber and many nutrients which bring some health benefits.
Different size of white sweet corn is the different prices. Small size is much cheaper than big size, the biggest size is definitely the most expensive. Our biggest size of sweet corn is about 600 grams or more, please come to our stall to see it.

We are selling sweet corn at Rose Valley during public holiday. We harvest corn at early morning and sell everyday, you can come our stall at Rose Valley during Hari Raya holidays. Our farm is close during public holiday.

Delivery to Johor is RM20 per box. It is depending on what size of corn that you interest.
